سه‌بعدی انسان از یک نقطه‌ به‌ نقطه‌ای دیگر برای اولین بار در فیلم جنگ ستارگان مطرح شد و هرچند رویای انسان این است

که بتواند از یک نقطه ‌به ‌نقطه‌ای دیگر منتقل شود، اما این رؤیا اینک توسط محققان مایکروسافت از طریق هدست واقعیت مجازی هولولنز، با چند دوربین سه‌بعدی در کنار اسکایپ محقق شده است.

در دموی مایکروسافت چت دو نفر را در یک اتاق نشان می‌دهد، درحالی‌که نفر دوم در اتاق نیست اما نفر اول با استفاده از هولولنز تصور حضور وی در اتاق را دارد.

شاید این دمو موردقبول کاربران نباشد و آن را خیلی تخیلی و البته گران (برای تحقق) بدانند، اما حرکت به‌سوی فناوری Teleportation / Holoportationمی‌تواند آغاز تحولی نوین برای ظهور تخیل‌های قدیمی برای انتقال انسان از یک نقطه ‌به ‌نقطه‌ای دیگر باشد.
